In Minecraft (Pocket Edition or otherwise) griefing is the act of disrupting gameplay for one or many players. Griefing is similar to trolling with the difference that trolling occurs as a groups activity more frequently. Griefing is almost exclusively associated with server gameplay where there are many players and in team-play environments.

Gamepedia notes that griefing takes on a variety of forms, with the most prominent being construction, destruction and social engineering. Regardless of the form it takes on, the end-game is the same: annoyance, frustration and disruption.

Someone who engages in griefing is referred to as a griefer.
