Minecraft PE gamemode Command

The gamemode command allows setting of the game mode to adventure, survival or creative mode in Minecraft PE. The command was first added to Minecraft PE in version 0.16.0.

/gamemode Syntax

/gamemode <gameMode> [player: target]

/gamemode Arguments

  • <gameMode>
    • Survival Mode: survival, 0 or s
    • Creative Mode: creative, 1 or c
    • Adventure Mode: adventure, 2 or a
  • [player: target] (optional)
    • When provided a valid player username or a target selector are required

Success/Failure

  • Success: When the command succeeds, the game mode is set for the player or players targeted.
  • Failure: The command fails if the arguments are supplied incorrectly or if an online player is specified but cannot be resolved.

Usage Notes

  • To use the gamemode (or any other command) in Minecraft PE cheats must be enabled.

Examples

Set the game mode to survival

Setting the game mode to survival mode for all players can be achieved by typing any of the three options below.

/gamemode survival

or

/gamemode s

or

/gamemode 0

Set the game mode to creative for all players

/gamemode creative @a

Set the game mode to adventure for all players

/gamemode adventure @a

or

/gamemode a @a

or

/gamemode 2 @a
